Other than intake and statutory services and in order to build capacity, we also run developmental community work projects.
ABET LITERACY PROGRAMME
To empower foster parents with basic literacy skills to assist them in dealing with homework and other day to day tasks in raising their children
POVERTY ALLEVIATION PROGRAMME
To assist Foster Parents, without income, to provide for the foster child whilst waiting for the Foster Care Grant to be processed ( + 3 months)
To empower the foster child through improved life skills, social functioning, relationships and school performance
FOSTER PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS
To support and empower Foster Parents by providing life skills and coping mechanisms in raising the foster children eg financial budgeting, dealing with behavioural problems, drugs, teenage pregnancy.
To be held quarterly at schools, shopping malls and other public venues on current topical issues such as Abuse against Women and Children
Erect a multifunctional hall at Colin House to provide a conducive environment for:
- Reunification of the parent child relationship , Parenting Skills Training and Life Skills Training for the children to prevent them from moving further into the continuum of care
- Play room
- Entertainment and function area to be used by sponsors hosting parties etc for the children of Colin House
