Our focus is to protect and uphold the rights of our community’s children. We advocate on behalf of our children, who have been abused, neglected, abandoned or orphaned, to place them in an environment in which both their physical and emotional wellbeing is developed to give these children an opportunity for a better future.

100 Year Journey
History
The Greater Benoni Child Welfare has been in existence since the 1920’s.
The offices were originally in Harpur Avenue, Benoni. The organisation moved into the current premises in Northmead, Benoni is 1983. Colin House, our Child & Youth Care Centre was opened in 1992 and extended in 2003 to cater for 20 children. Demand for services resulted in a permanent office being opened in Daveyton. Our caseload fluctuates between 1390 and 1450 families.
Our dynamic team is made up of Social Workers, Auxiliary Social Workers, Administration, House Mothers, General Workers , Management Committee Members and Volunteers.

Our organisation has been approved as a public benefit organization (PBO) in terms of Section 30 of the Income Tax Act.

We are a BEE rated organisation (Level 4 Contributor.)
															Corporate Governance
As an Organisation, we collaborate with Government as well as other non-government organisations in our area. We maintain high standards of governance and meet reporting obligations as set out by the relevant legislation, including full transparency in all financial matters and are audited annually.
